A community cookbook compiled by members of the Dorchester Woman s Club in Boston, with recipes (each signed by contributor) for Marietta G. Allen s rule for molasses cup-cake, Christmas pudding, cream pie, banberry pie, spider corn cake, Rhode Island clam chowder (for twelve people), lobster bisque, baked lobster, Shaker fish & egg, etc. 

This book has been through a lot, and seems to have survived a fire and a flood, with evidence of both in smoke and water damage. Still, it is in good condition, and with wonderful pictorial ads for Boston shops and businesses. Owner s name and date of 1903 to front free endpaper. Cook p.116
